This play is really a “dutch treat” in that it could be called by either word. The beauty of this move is that both words provided a large number of points. By playing the ‘S’ off the root word to make it plural, Linda was able to create ‘JUTS’ and ‘AQUAS’. The reason that this double play is considered superb is that not only was she able to make those two words out of 4 letters, but the ‘J’ hits the Triple Letter AND the point where both words intersect is at the ‘S’ which hits the Triple Word Score, so she gets an amazing return on her 4 tiles.
